A Young Footballer's Life

It is common to see around young people playing football in the fields, at school or on the road. In Cyprus, it has become a tradition that children from an age to join a youth football team, dreaming to become the next Messi or Maradona. So, there is my story as a young footballer, currently playing in Ethnikos Achnas Kids' Soccer School. I started when I was 6 years old, thereby I have much knowledge of how the daily training day is
By Dimitrios Dimitriadis (Year 2)
So, to practice, we need to wear the football uniform with the badge of my team and football shoes. When we arrive to the pitch, wesit down and listen what coach has to say to the whole team. We don't laugh because if he catches us we will have a bad consequences like 10 laps of the whole pitch. It is very hard. So when the coach finish we have to do a warm up with our gym coach so we don't get injured for 15-20 minutes. Later we go to theyour head coach wehe shows some the tactics that he wants for the football game with the other teams. After we finish the tactics, we do passing and shooting drills for like 40 minutes and when you finish all that you play a game at the end for 15-20 minutes.

The practice finishes and I go at home to do my homework and take a bath to relax a bit. Later, I eat well, because the next day I have practice. On Fridays that is important, to be ready for tomorrow for the match against other teams. After eating breakfast I will go to the dressing room because the coach has to instruct what each player will do during the game. The coach finishes, we go to the pitch and a warm up for 30 minutesto so we will not get injured. When it comes to the match, every Saturday, I either join my team's bus with my teammates and travel across cyprus to our opponent's home stadium, or go to Dasaki Achna's training grounds. Our parents arrive usually a few minutes before the match and my mum always carries a photography machine to take videos of us, that my father edits when the match is finished.
Speaking of the match, we play for 90 minutes, but it is divided by 2, for the players to have a break and for new tactics. I like being central attacking midfielder but coach rotates us depending on the strategy. The game is tiring and the opponents are tough, they are pulling us from our shirts and they are shouting, but we stay focused to the game. I try my best to listen to coach and sometimes I manage to assist my teammates to score, or like last game, score from a foul. I admit, we spend a lot of time thinking of celebrations than regrouping, but its the moment we celebrate as a team. With our parents and friends from the stands shouting and supporting us, we feel capable to win! Finally, as the coach whistles the last time, the team gathers and cheers no matter the result, and then we go to eat as family or as team.
To sum up, my football life is a big part of my entire life. It is where I made a lot of friends and I get to exercise. In the future, I want to become a footballer, so these routines help me.
